Comfortable and holding up after several years!

"I bought these boots 2. 5 years ago, and I love them and wear them all of the time. They are getting 4 stars not 5 only because when I took them to get repaired (normal wear and tear) at my cobbler, the finish of the leather is the type that holds onto scratches and smudges. The cobbler was able to easily repair everything, and cleaned them up admirably, but they will never look really nice again. And the leather loop on the back of the shoe breaks if I try to use it to pull the shoe on. But they are exceptionally comfortable, fit perfectly (I usually struggle with the width of the toe box in shoes, but not with these shoes), look really good, and are generally the quality I would expect at this price. $200 shoes are not going to be made from the most durable leather, so I don't expect them to last forever, but they are lasting admirably as my every day shoes for the past 2. 5 years."

Can these shoes be worn in the rain? Are they water resistant?
Hi Lili, Thank you for your inquiry! The Passage Lace Up Boots are not fully water-resistant, so we wouldn’t recommend wearing them in heavy rain. However, they can handle light moisture. Am wanting to order the passage lace-up boots and am hoping for adjustable laces, 1/2" heel, and instead of rubber outsoles can you possibly apply a layer of leather to the bottom of heel and sole as I will only use these boots as my indoor dancing shoes and i need them to slide

Do you carry wide sizes?
Hi Debra, Thank you for your question. We do not make shoes in wide sizes but can accommodate a slightly wider foot. Additionally the leather stretches between 1- 1.5 cm. Hope this helps!
Are the laces tucked into the shoes in these pictures? Can the laces go through the top loops?
Hello Helen, I'm not sure which picture you are referring to. I purchased the Passage Lace Up Boots but found them too big, so...I cut out Elf's leather laces that are attached to boots and put in my own tie up laces that I purchased. I'm able to control how tight the boots are now, and the fit, although still a bit large, makes them perfectly wearable for my feet. The leather laces that come in the boots are stitched right to the boots near the second to the top eyes and can't be adjusted. It made more sense to me to put in laces that made it possible for me to adjust the tightness on my foot. Problem solved!! Judi
